Yacht Club: What does it cost?

And, the burning question: Is it worth it?

It’s pretty safe to say that the MSC Yacht Club is a wonderful way to enhance your cruise with some luxury options that help make the experience special. But what does it cost above the usual price of the cruise?

In today’s era of rapidly rising cruise costs, value is an important part of many people’s decisions. I decided to take a look at the price of a regular interior vs. my interior cabin in the Yacht Club and see how the costs lined up. I’m currently on a 3-night cruise, so I priced this same cruise for a weekend in October 2025 (about seven months from now).

MSC Seascape, 3 nights (Nassau and Ocean Cay), October 16, 2025
• Interior cabin, two people, includes drinks and wifi: $1,012.60
• Yacht Club interior, two people: $1,976.60
(For my solo cruisers, those prices would be $863.30 vs $1,847.30)

The Yacht Club is definitely a harder sell as a value proposition for the solo traveler. Since a solo cruiser pays based on double occupancy, the “upgrade” charge for Yacht Club falls entirely on that person.

On the other hand, in a double occupancy situation, the difference here between a regular interior and a Yacht Club interior is just under $500 per person. I would consider that a reasonable upgrade to have access to all of the Yacht Club benefits, especially on a crowded spring break sailing like the one I went on. The Top Sail Lounge, a spacious area with snacks and a bar for YC guests only, would be an excellent meetup spot for a family or group of friends traveling together.

In my opinion, the Yacht Club isn’t cheap — but it is, definitely, very nice. I think the decision on whether it’s “worth it” to have the YC access and spaces would depend on the person and the situation. It also depends on the length of the cruise: The difference between a standard interior and a Yacht Club interior climbs up to around $1000 for a week-long cruise.

That said, the Yacht Club would be a wonderful way to celebrate or give yourself a special cruise experience. You know what they say — sometimes you just have to
