Trip report: Harmony of the Seas, October 13-17, 2026, RT Port Canaveral

I don’t usually do trip recaps, but since I didn’t post much during my recent cruise on Harmony of the Seas, I figured I might as well give it a try!
I took a four-night cruise with some buddies I met on a cruise about five years ago; we live all over, so we only get to see each other on cruises, pretty much. Two of us flew down to FL and the other one drove over from Tampa.
Harmony of the Seas had just been refurbished about six months prior, and I’d sailed the ship a few months after the amplification. I was pleased to see some of the spots I remembered, especially the nice updates to the pool deck and the nonsmoking casino.
Our itinerary had a sea day followed by port stops at CocoCay and Nassau. Because the day at Nassau was short, we chose to stay on the ship. My friend Chris and I recorded a video for his YouTube channel, and we mostly just relaxed and enjoyed the ship being not so full.
A short cruise like this one isn’t for everyone. It feels like you’ve just gotten into your cabin and opened up your suitcase, and suddenly it’s time to pack up and leave. I wrote previously about how I learned to love these short cruises, mostly out of necessity: Sometimes, a few days is all you can get away for.
As a part of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class, Harmony of the Seas is a great pick for a lot of different types of clients. It has great options for families or multigenerational groups, but it’s even perfect for a group of friends without kids like ours.
For us, though, this cruise was really about spending time together. We didn’t need a packed itinerary or a lot of activities to have a good time. Four nights might not be long enough for a proper vacation, but it was plenty of time to catch up with friends, enjoy a great ship, and start talking about when we can do it again!
